March 4-7, 2010 Oysterfest Navigation Park, Fulton, Texas	This event celebrates 31 years in 2010. Enjoy a parade at 11am on the 6th, oysters (and plenty of other festival foods for non-oyster eaters), carnival games and rides, vendors, music and other entertainment, arts and crafts booths, oyster eating contests, oyster shucking contests. March 6-7, 2010 Los Angeles County Irish Fair & Music Festival Fairplex, Pomona, California	It's the 8th anniversary for this one. Current plans include a Redhead Contest, Freckle Contest, sheepherding demonstrations, Irish clan gatherings, Irish stew, corned beef and cabbage, corned beef sandwiches, Irish sporting competitions, Irish music and dance on a whopping 8 entertainment stages, Leprechaun Village (with a petting zoo plus pony rides and other activities for the kids), storytelling. March 6-7, 2010 Gulf Coast Renaissance Fair Interstate Fairgrounds on Mobile Highway at Pine Forest Rd., Pensacola, Florida	Staged and mingling entertainment from jugglers and firebreathers, drawings for prizes, crafts, games, miniature horses, renaissance merchants, jousting and playful swordfighting, food. If you're traveling and you feel up for a challenge you might try the Cowtown Diner in Fort Worth, Texas. A 64-ounce chicken-fried steak comes with 6 pounds of mashed potatoes and 10 slices of Texas toast. And gravy. If that's just too much food you might try the sweet potato pancakes or the chipped beef shortribs. (The 64-ounce steak meal is free if you can finish it.) And since we're in the season when the Irish rule, how about a monster corned beef sandwich? Gus & Paul's in Springfield, Massachusetts has one with two-and-a-half pounds of corned beef and all the fixings. But you only get an hour to devour it if you want it free. If that's just too much food, consider one of their regular-size sandwiches with some sweet potato fries and follow it up with a canoli. You can also get breakfast all day long and if you want to get married you can put in an order for a wedding cake (though I suspect that will take a bit more time than a regular order).
